A deep low pressure system tracking
across the area triggered numerous wind warnings across Ontario
and gale warnings for the Great Lakes. The strong winds whipped
up the waves on Lake Ontario, making for treacherous conditions
along the shoreline. The same system spawned a killer tornado
the previous night in Kentucky & Indiana. A mobile home park
in Evansville was destroyed and there were numerous fatalities
and at least 200 people were injured.
"The dawn came late and
the breakfast had to wait
When the gales of November came slashing
When afternoon came it was freezing rain
In the face of a hurricane west Wind"
