I've always been a fan of urban
exploration, especially abandoned places. On my way to New York
City, I spotted an old rail bridge that has obviously gone unused
for quite some time. I was not in a rush, so I took some time
to investigate. I even found cavern-like passageways inside the
bridge.
The bridge spans Interstate
80 in Columbia, New Jersey.
It continues across the Delaware
River into Pennsylvania.
My first glance at the top of
the bridge.
The tracks are long gone, but
many of the railroad ties still remain.
The trees growing on the top
of the bridge were my first sign that this place was long abandoned.
An access hole. Time to see
what's down here.
Deep inside the structure of
the bridge. Obviously, the local teenagers have spent some time
here.
More graffiti. This area can
only accessed by going inside the bridge, then passing through
a gap in between the supports.
