Alligators - Up Close

Florida Everglades - Aug, 2007

Being in Florida on another trip, I just had to go and visit the Everglades, home to all kinds of wildlife, including about two million alligators. I was able to see these incredible creatures in the wild and also got closer than most people would ever want to.

The best way to get around in the Everglades - Air boat	Alligators stay submerged with just their eyes & nostrils above water.

Looking more like a log than an animal, alligators are ambush predators.	Anyone interested in going for a swim?...

This 10 foot alligator is relatively safe to approach from behind, but don't get near those teeth if you know what's good for you.
